Aberdeen City Services

There are a number of different services and support available in Aberdeen City, and many of them are designed to make life easier for people in need. Some of these include the Housing Directory, which has information on homelessness, shared ownership for over 55s, and sheltered housing for the elderly. Other services can help people with mental health issues, and there are even services for people with Asperger’s syndrome.

Service for people with mental health problems

The Aberdeen Counselling and Information Service is a well-established service for people with mental health problems. It offers counselling, support and advice. The service is open to people who are 18 years of age or older, and can help you find the right support for you. Calls are free and confidential.

A community-based team includes a mental health practitioner, trained volunteers and paid peer support. Together they will provide signposting, de-escalation and empathetic responses to people who seek help. The team will also develop partnerships with other services and strengthen local links.

This service has been commissioned by the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership to provide a first point of contact for people suffering from poor mental health. It will focus on deprived areas and operate seven days a week. It will be flexible and focus on easy access, listening and immediate support.

The service is staffed by Community Care Co-ordinators, Occupational Therapists, and care managers. In addition to providing a range of physical support, the service also provides companionship and emotional support.

This service is available to those aged 60 and over, and is free and confidential. It supports self-help and early intervention activities, as well as therapeutic support groups for people living with dementia. It also provides information for families and carers. There is also a website dedicated to information and advice on dementia.

Service for people with Asperger’s syndrome

Aberdeen City has recently launched a Community Mental Health Delivery Plan. The aim of this document is to provide comprehensive support and services for people with mental health difficulties in the city. It outlines the vision and objectives of the community mental health service, and is supported by a Market Position Statement.

The service has been designed to meet the unique needs of people with Asperger syndrome in the community. The service offers a range of treatments to help people with the condition. These include speech therapy and cognitive behavior therapy. These treatments focus on the individual’s strengths and address the challenges they face. Those with Asperger’s syndrome may also benefit from physical and occupational therapies.
